Er hat einiges geöffnet in der Neurowissenschaft, John Eccles, und er hat viel geschrieben, das bleibt. Und auch in Papierform auffindbar ist in Düsseldorf, am Oskar-Vogt-Institut der Universität, denn dort verblieb der gesamte Nachlaß durch Bemühung besonders von Hans-Joachim Freund (www.nachlassdatenbank.de)(www.uniklinik-duesseldorf.de/eccles).

Die alten Gefährten und Schüler aus aller Welt waren auf dieser Tagung voll des Lobes über Meister Eccles. Offenbar hat er auch über seine Persönlichkeit gewirkt.
