“However, no administration has generated more voluminous legislation and regulation than President Obama’s in his first term. The history of his presidency can be told concisely as a series of pledges to increase employment (‘the stimulus’),

reduce the risk of financial crisis and provide universal health insurance, each of which produced a major expansion of the administrative state. The Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd–Frank) ran to 848 pages and created two new agencies, the Financial Stability Oversight Council and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA, for short) totalled 961 pages (along with the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act) and created the Independent Payment Advisory Board. Even more cumbersome was the legislation that was drafted to enact the Trans Pacific Partnership, a trade agreement between twelve Pacific-rim countries. This was over 5,554 pages long, contained more than two million words and, when printed out, stood nearly three feet high. Moreover, both Obamacare and Dodd–Frank spawned great shoals of regulation. After the ACA was passed, government agencies produced more than a hundred final regulations spelling out how the new laws were to be implemented. Dodd–Frank specifically instructed regulators to create more than 400 new rules. According to one estimate, the act could increase financial industry regulatory restrictions by nearly a third if this process is ever completed. To get some idea of the scale of the regulation epidemic, assume that each of the 10,535 pages of healthcare regulations in the Federal Register contains 1,100 words. That adds up to more than 11 million words. By way of comparison, Magna Carta was a single sheet of parchment with fewer than 4,000 words. The original draft of the US Constitution was only slightly longer (4,543 words, to be precise). And the Declaration of Independence consists of just 1,458 words.”

Hier wird klar, daß Obama der bisher schlimmste Präsident der USA war, gemessen am Freiheitsverzehr. Die Heimat der Regulierungsspirale ist Europa, speziell die EU, die mit immer neuen Regulierungen von der Gurke bis zum Diesel den Bürgern schadet.
