Piano Trio No. 1 by Brahms (3rd movement) " The third movement is perhaps the most overlooked of all his adagios and yet it is amongst the best, up there with that of the C minor piano quartet, the opening section of the Alto Rhapsody, the slow movement of the f minor piano sonata, etc. The fact Brahms destroyed far more than what survives is extraordinary - I would have banned a fireplace on his behalf! " Well commented by JoyceLittle.
